Over 300 swimmers competed in the USF Valentine’s Day Affair on Saturday, February 13, 2010. Congratulations to Jennifer Fernandez and Doug Brewer for some great swims!

Jennifer Fernandez – 1st place– 50 Free, 200 Free, 50 Breast, and 200 Fly! And 4th place– 50 Fly

Auto-Withdrawal Cancelation
IMPORTANT: If you are leaving RAMS and want to cancel your autowithdrawal, we need to know BEFORE the 25th of the month prior to your departure... We need to notify the bank to cancel the transaction. Please keep this in mind when you request cancellation....
Coach's Corner

We want you all to know how great you did on the increase of kicking in February. It is exciting as coaches to watch you improve. A few tips to remember for continued improvement:
1. Develop a passion for technique

2. Variations in stroke technique can be an individual process, take the basics and if need be experiment with your own body.

3. The long axis stokes (free and back) are rotation strokes,hip rotation and legs provide much of the power.

4. Sprinting is built from the legs,using kick with both a downbeat and upbeat.

5. Effective drills will improve both kicking and swimming.

6. Drills need to be done in massive repetition for improvement. ( Be Patient )

7. Relax and enjoy, Attitude is everything

2010 Trans Tahoe Relay2010 Trans Tahoe Relay Swim is scheduled for Saturday, July 17. Last year, entries were limited and some teams did not get to compete. Enter early to ensure a spot. Entries are online at the Olympic Club website. No solo entries, no paper entries, and a team must have 6 members to officially compete.


RAMS Dues Change:

Important Change in RAMS Dues Effective January 2010

Due to popular demand, beginning January 2010 the Annual fee will be combined with the Monthly dues. This change will eliminate the need to for you to write out an extra $25 check for the Annual Fee in January, as you have done in past years. Moving forward, we will spread out what had been the Annual Fee over the year by combining the Annual Fee with Monthly Dues. The result will be a very slight (one whole dollar) reduction in total dues each member will pay over the course of a year.

To accommodate inclusion of the Annual fee into the monthly dues, beginning January 2010, the Monthly Dues will change from $55/month to $57/month.

Again, the main effect is that this saves you from writing an extra check, and keeps our Treasurer “happier than a tornado in a trailer park” if he does not have to chase down Annual Fee delinquents.
